Akhtar khan

Akhtar was born in Bombay and his parents migrated to Karachi when the two countries were carved out in 1947. He got a bachelor in Commerce from the University of Karachi and then went on to do his Chartered Accountancy.

He started his professional career as a Comptroller in a medium-sized bank, before being offered the job of Deputy Chief Accountant in Lipton (the tea blending arm of Unilever). The boom in the Middle East pulled him, like other professionals, to Saudi Arabia where he joined Ernst & Young (then Whinney Murray) in 1978. In 1981, he left WM and joined a local engineering company specialized in major electrification projects, as Finance Manager. At the end of 1986 he received an offer from a financial services company in London, so left Riyadh and went to UK. He worked as Finance Director and Company Secretary until 1991.

Adam Brown

Adam Brown was born in Hamilton, New Zealand. He runs an ecommerce company called FirstIn.co.nz that has a unique selling proposition of "Daily deals - one day only". This is where we sell one set of goods, for 24 hours only, and then replace those goods with a new set of offers the following day. This happens 365 days a year.

Adam started Webmark Design Ltd in 2001 whilst at University. He merged interests and established Customers.co.nz Ltd with his father in 2003; and setup Firstin.co.nz in 2004

Adam aims to establish a network of FirstIn licensees around the globe. He has proved what an exciting concept it is, and that it can be profitable (people are always skeptical of e-commerce!). His aim is now to license the business model and web engine to customers around the globe.

Alan Davis

Alan is a Real Estate Entrepreneur who is involved with a wide variety of Real Estate related businesses. He has worked for over 20 years and was previously with companies such as Scivolutions (Advanced Wound Care), The Dial Corporation, Diageo and Reckitt Benkiser. He has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California in Santa Barbara and an MBA from the Keller School of Management

Alan lives by the “golden rule” and believes that the key to success in life and business is creating a network of friends, family and business partners who share the common principles of Integrity, Character, Accountability and a Sense of Humor. He is very proud of his family; a beautiful wife who has her own high-end nail salon business, and their three children.

Alan has traveled to over 25 countries and he looks forward to traveling to another 25 countries within the next 20 years. He is a past member of S.E.R.V.A.S. (www.servas.org) and looks forward to developing relationships with other Globonders on multiple levels which, in addition to business, include the pleasures of cultural exchange.

Ben was born on Oct 9th 1954 in Greenwood, Ms, and grew up on a cotton plantation in Vance, Ms (pop.100) He is the oldest of three children with a sister Mae who is a vegan hippie in Oregon and a sister Jane who is a suburban Republican living in Jackson, Ms. As a child, he remembers not really knowing what he wanted to do with his life, but, he says “I sure as hell knew that it wouldn’t be in Mississippi”. Ben has been married for 12 years to Dr. Johanna Tiemann, a clinical psychologist, and they have a 6 year old son Christopher.

Ben is something of an old fashioned family man. He spends the bulk of his free time with his wife and son. Johanna and Ben love to garden at their home in upstate New York. They spent this past summer helping their son create his own new garden, which is Christopher’s prize possession. Ben enjoys reading with Christopher and answering the endless inquisitive questions that a 6 year old has about how the world really works.

Chip Purrington

Chip leads the investment banking and advisory services of Federal Street Capital, Inc. (member NASD and SIPC). He is an entrepreneur and investment banker with 18 years of expertise in private placements, middle market M&A and strategic and financial advisory and well as hands on operating experience.

Chip’s approach to helping companies from pre-revenue to growth stage is immersive. He works with companies that have high growth potential and with teams that are ready to do what is necessary to win in competitive industries from life sciences and medical devices to technology – mobile, enterprise security, telecom and digital media. Chip combines his established network in New England, New York, and California to raise capital with simultaneously guiding the company’s team to build value and sustain value - sourcing revenue and pipeline, sourcing talent, and budgeting - to balance growth and risk.

Etsko Schuitema

Growing up in Johannesburg, South Africa in the early 1960’s was a
challenging time. Etsko, whose family was in mining, was exposed to the inner
workings of the mining industry at a young age. At the University of the
Witwatersrand, he completed an Honours Degree in Social Anthropology. In the
late ‘70’s, as a graduate researcher with The Chamber of Mines of South
Africa’s Research Organisation, he was specifically employed by the Human Resources
Laboratory of the Research Organization.

These were times of upheaval in South Africa, and his work was initially
focused on the issue of conflict in gold mines at the final eclipse of the
overthrow of the apartheid regime. Due to his position, he was right in the
middle of the conflict that swept through the mines. His groundbreaking work
dealing with conflict resolution was noted, specifically his development of a
framework for understanding and trust in this controversial industry.

Helder Souto Santos

Helder Souto Santos was born in Divinopolis in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
He studied Mechanical Engineearing at ITA (Technologic Institute of Aeronautics), which is the Brazilian equivalent of MIT
Helder is a serial entrepreuneurer and a Business Development expert who, through his company Ventura,Intelligence, helps other people and other companies to create new and innovative companies. Ventura, Intelligence is today focused mainly on WEB 2.0 businesses and has invested in some consumer-market websites.
Ventura,Intelligence has launched 3 consumer websites up so far:
www.gozub.com: a brazilian micro-bloging site that follow twitter concept and is getting strong in the brazilian market
www.meetango.com: a new concept of activity streaming site that was launched on May/2008 to international market, not just focusing in the domestic brazilian market
www.estilook.com : still in BETA launch, Ventura is launching in the end of this month a Social Network site that focuses in users who appreciate Style and Fashion
In the coming months other site will be launched in many fields like Human Resources, Dating, Car sales market and News.

Jeffrey S. Malone

A former McKenzie consultant, Jeff has a deep understanding of the pressures of today's corporate world, how to navigate it, and turn it into success. His executive experience ranges from acting as: a senior executive managing large retail and manufacturing operations with global presence; an interim CEO for several customers implementing strategic plans, with full management and operational responsibility, and an in-house consultant to several institutions. As founder of Malone Management Services, a Management consultancy, he provides advice and training to both profit and non-profit organizations.
Jeff earned an MBA from Stanford University, specializing in Organizational Development, a JBS in Economics and Mathematics from Oregon State University. He also studied at the University of the Americas in Mexico City.

Julie Dennis

Born in Liverpool, the European Capital of Culture, Julie Dennis gained a BS degree with Honours in Psychology from the University of York in. During her time at York she began to develop her career as a performer. After her first year she played the lead in a production that won the coveted National Student Drama Festival Award. Her first play won the Verity Bargate New Play write Award at the Soho Poly Theatre.

Inevitably drawn to London, Julie was immediately recognised as an important new talent in Jazz, working with such prominent artists as Courtney Pine, Stan Tracey, Bobby Wellins Jean Toussant and many more. She went on to tour Great Britain and Europe with the Charlie Watts Big Band.

Kelley Kosow

Kelley J. Kosow received her bachelor's degree from Brown University and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. A transactional attorney with experience in litigation, corporate finance, she practiced law with two major Miami law firms. She then worked as in house counsel for a real estate and investment firm with over 40 million dollars of assets. A member of the Florida bar, Kelley is certified as a family law mediator and in the practice of Collaborative Divorce. She is also a Founder and Young President of Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, and a Honorary Member of the Board of Directors of Diabetes Research Institute oident of her own company, Go Goddess!™ Inc., which created games, books and gave seminars to empower, inspire, and entertain women and girls. Beyond being a key participant in the development of the content for all the products and programs, Kelley was head of Business Development. She oversaw the Company's day to day operations, identified and developed strategic alliances, oversaw the licensing and roll-out of new products, and managed all legal and business matters.

Kelsey Mayabb

Kelsey Christine Mayabb was born in Texas in 1978. She spent 5 years of her childhood in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado before moving back to her beloved Texas. Early years were spent in the Dallas area where she participated in many athletic endeavors such as soccer, softball, cheerleading, dancing and gymnastics. A move to Austin, Texas in 1990 proved to be one that would shape Kelsey’s life in many ways.

Leong Ying

NYC Globonder Leong Ying is truly a global child. Born in Singapore to a native mother and a Shanghais father, he was nurtured most of his impressionable life in the Arthurian lands where he was infested with his cute British accent and satirical sense of humor. Leong graduated from Liverpool University with a doctorate in nuclear physics. In 1993 he immigrated to the United States and is now a naturalized citizen. As an established physicist he has numerous published articles in science and technology journals, and is also a recognized patented inventor. His career path has included positions as an entrepreneur, engineer, and senior sales executive mostly in the industrial fields of cryogenics and superconductivity. Leong is a black-belt expert in Jujitsu, has run several marathons, and is a certified skydiver and scuba-diver. Acting and writing are his other passions and he has recently published his first scientific novel, Klystar. Ingeniously weaved within this epic story are his revolutionary theories based on the Universal Laws of Thermodynamics that prove the existence of twin universes and also dare to scientifically define God!
